The vamps: Someone to you
Narrative style and performance elements:
They are singing about how they want to be somebody special to the girl they like so they are narrating how they feel about her but it is a very weak narrative as its performance video.
camerawork (shot type, angle and movement)
They do full body shots with the group of boys and the group of girls but with Demi Lovato they only do portrait shots. They move the shots sideways, backwards and sometimes forwards.
sound (diegetic and non-diagetic etc)
They have guitars and drums playing with the vamps singing whats quite masculine. Its diegetic sound as you can see them playing on the beach and singing and also to set the scene at the beginning.
Mis-en-scene (hair, makeup, costume, props, locations)
They are wearing quite casual clothing, clothing you would normally wear on a holiday somewhere hot. the girls are wearing makeup. the location is a tropical like island on a beach. The props are inflatable animals in the pool, the glasses they were wearing.
Editing (cut type, length and speed, transitions, graphics)
theres no graphics as its naturalistic throughout. cut type goes from one scene to the next, it goes at site a slow pace then when the music starts to go faster the scenes transition faster.
Little mix: Black Magic
Narrative style and performance elements:
Its a performance style video with also a very weak narrative. The lyrics go on about how they made a potion what makes any boy fall in love and how all the girls in there block are knocking on there door asking how to make it but in the video they are in a high school trying to impress a boy.
camerawork (shot type, angle and movement)
They do full body shots then when they are doing a solo they do portrait shots of the people doing the solo. They pan out over the crowd that forms around the four girls.
Sound (diagetic and non-diabetic)
The only diagetic sound is the school Bell at the beginning then all the singing etc is non-diagetic.
Mis-en-scene (hair, makeup, costume, props, locations)
In the beginning of the video the four girls are geeks with not much makeup then when they turn into the attractive girls they were wearing allot of makeup. the location was a high school.
Editing (cut type, length and speed, transitions, graphics)
They used graphics for the magic. The speed goes with the beat of the music and whenever one of them is doing a solo they change to a portrait scene of them singing.
